Willem II (full name: Willem II Tilburg) is a professional Dutch football club based in Tilburg. Around the 2016/17 season the club had the following notable details:

• Head coach: Erwin van de Looi — He was appointed head coach of Willem II in May 2016 and led the team through the 2016/17 Eredivisie season. Van de Looi had previously coached various Dutch youth national teams and brought a disciplined, organized style to the side.
• 2016/17 league: Eredivisie — Willem II competed in the top tier of Dutch football (Eredivisie) during the 2016/17 season after having been promoted back to the Eredivisie for the 2014/15 season and establishing themselves in the top flight.
• Season performance (2016/17 Eredivisie):
  • Final position: 9th place in the 2016/17 Eredivisie table.
  • Style/notes: The team was noted for solid defensive organization under Van de Looi and for punching above its weight relative to budget and squad size.
• Home stadium: Koning Willem II Stadion — located in Tilburg, often referred to as the Willem II Stadion. The ground has a capacity in the region of around 14,700 spectators.
• Key players around that season:
  • Frederik Helstrup / Jan Klaassen — note: squad turnover is common; notable regulars included attackers and creative midfielders who contributed to the club’s mid-table finish. (Specifics: players such as Erik Falkenburg, Bartholomew Ogbeche had been influential in surrounding years; please request a full 2016/17 squad list if you need exact names and stats.)
• Dutch Cup (KNVB Beker) 2016/17: Willem II participated but did not win the competition in 2016/17.
• Managerial notes: Erwin van de Looi remained a respected coach in the Netherlands; after his spell at Willem II he later went on to manage Groningen and had roles with national youth teams.
