K Beerschot VA / Royal Antwerp FC — 2016/17 season context

During the 2016/17 Belgian football season the Antwerp club commonly referred to as Royal Antwerp FC (often shortened to Antwerp) competed in the Belgian First Division B (the second tier of Belgian football). Around that time, the club underwent several managerial changes and ownership developments as it worked to regain top-flight status.

• Club: Royal Antwerp FC (commonly just "Antwerp")
• Season: 2016/17
• Competition: Belgian First Division B (Proximus League)

Coaching/Managerial note

There is no widely recorded evidence that a coach named Pierre Brits (or Pierre Britz/Britz) was head coach of Royal Antwerp FC during the 2016/17 season. The principal managers associated with Antwerp in that general timeframe were:

• Félicien Nevejans — more associated with earlier periods in the club’s history (not 2016/17 first-team manager).
• Mladen Milinković — managed Antwerp during parts of the mid-2010s in some coaching roles in Belgian football, though not consistently credited as head coach for Antwerp in 2016/17.
• Other names/changes: Antwerp experienced administrative/ownership changes with investors becoming involved (notably in the seasons immediately following 2016/17), and the club later appointed coaches who led them back to the top flight in subsequent seasons.

Possible explanations

• You may be referring to a youth-team coach, an assistant, a local coach with limited documentation, or a misspelling of a different coach’s name. Small or short-term coaching appointments at lower levels or in youth setups are often not well documented internationally.
• If you meant a different Antwerp club (for example Beerschot or Beerschot Wilrijk, also Antwerp-based) or a nearby lower-division side, that could explain the name mismatch.

If you need further details

I can look up the officially recorded first-team head coach(es) for Royal Antwerp FC in 2016/17, provide season results and squad lists, or check for any coach with a similar name (Pierre Britz/Britz) at Antwerp or nearby Belgian clubs in that season. I will present the findings in the same HTML format.
